Generator restarting problem

Onan Generator Ques in a 1998 Chieftain Generator starts fine and runs suppling power to coach. When I shut it off after a time, doesn't matter how long, It won't start again. I've noticed that if I crack the throttle , governor linkage, a slight bit it will start and continue to run.

Try cleaning the choke/throttle near intake/filter, deposits might have built up and is sticking closed or gummy.

Found prior owner replaced carb. and auto choke assembly My gen repair manual says to check the cold adj. of the bimetal coil. I would but I can't get cover off. The vacuum lever for choke seems to be moving freely. Probably I should take it to somebody more knowledgeable?
