Galley Slide retracted then extended on its own

Hi Everyone,
This one has me stumped.
I was experiencing some creep on my galley slid out and after a heavy rain had water in the carpeting.
I extended the slide to engage the seals and that took care of that problem.
When I retracted the slide to get it ready to take in for repair the slide retracted fine and I locked the slide in but suddenly the slide started to extend on its own the locks were screeching, I got them to release but the slide extended all the way out and won't retract.
If I manually retract the slide what will prevent it from extending again?
What went wrong?
I checked the check valves and that was also puzzling I found no springs for the plunger.

I have a 2007 Winnebago Journey 39K.

Any help would be appreciated.
