Ford service on a 2019 Winnebago Adventurer 27N

I just sold my C-Class and bought a new (leftover) 2019 Adventurer 27N two weeks ago. On the first trip the check engine turned on so I started looking, in Birmingham AL, for a Ford dealer to work on it. I called every dealership.

No luck anywhere near Birmingham. Closest one is 90 miles away in Montgomery AL and he said I'd have to leave it with him for 2-3 weeks for a check engine light.

Is this normal for the rest of you guys?

I'm shocked.

I've never taken my rv into any dealer (we bought used) but I think I'd be calling the selling dealer to see about them diagnosing the issue. The other option is to go to an Autozone/Advance Auto Parts and have them pull the engine code to see if it's a quick fix. A standard ODB2 code-reader should do the trick. Maybe it's something simple that wouldn't require an extended service call.

any large engine shop (truck service) should be able to take care of that for you. got to be plenty of independent shops in B'ham. if you think this might be a warranty issue then I'd call Ford, explain the problem and see if they'll authorize the independent shop to fix it.

I assume you checked with Adamson Ford. They claim to be the Commercial Truck service center for Ford Commercial Trucks in your area.

When you do find out who services F53 Ford Chassis please post it here. Folks are always looking for info on this topic.

So it's true? You can get your Ford chassis motorhome serviced at just about any Ford dealer?
(sorry, couldn't resist )

My recommendation: Buy a scan gauge. I bought the Scan Gauge II for $160 after getting a check engine light part way through the Cascade mountains in WA. I kept my fingers crossed that it wasn't a serious issue and chugged forward. Turns out I lost one of the spark plug coils and was running on 9 cylinders. Heck, that one more than a V8! Those extra cylinders really come in handy! Seriously, I was lacking pulling power going up through the mountain passes towing a Jeep Wrangler but did make it through.

The added advantage to the Scan Gauge II is that I have it Velcro-mounted on my dash and use it to see how well the engine is performing, average gas mileage, temperatures, etc. You can simultaneously monitor and display four OBD-II functions that you get to pick. Overall, a great tool to have onboard.

A simple online search of the scan code will tell you what the error code is. Combined with a bit of engine knowledge, you can figure out if this is a serious problem or just one of those annoying ones, like the ubiquitous EVAP system error.

Thanks for all the good advice.

I went to Advanced Auto parts and they pulled a A0300 code. Random misfiring. So I called a local shop, close enough to my house where I could bring my bicycle and cycle home after dropping it off, that has door big enough to bring it inside and work on it. $350 later it should be ready today at noon. I also got an oil change at 1,800 miles.

I'm going to call the Ford RV number and send them the bill as I called every local Ford dealer and none of them would work on it. I won't hold my breath but I'm sending them the bill.

Next up is suspension upgrades as it is a little tippy and gets knocked around a little to much. I look forward to picking your brains on this topic.

I do love the RV though. Very very happy. Quality.
