Electric heat

2004 Adventurer 38G
Electric heat will not come on, had been working. Fine for past four days, today it would not come on, when I move switch to electric heat gasheat will come on electric heat will not. If I turn on AC that works fine, I started up generator, and not thinking, turn electric heat on before generator started supplying electric, not sure if this may have caused the problem, checked all the circuit breakers everything fine, is there anything in the unit itself that may need to be reset, any and all help will be appreciated

Have you tried "a reboot"?

Unplug from the pedestal for a couple of minutes ... generator off ...

Then plug back into the pedestal ...

This worked for me a couple of times ... both times the voltage on the pedestal was at the lower range of acceptable voltage ... in my case it was the air conditioning that would not come on ...

What skigramp said - plus, while you're unplugged, cycle the 12V power to "reboot" the thermostat.

Also, set thermostat to only 3 degrees above actual temp. If thermostat seers a differential if more than 3 degrees it will activate furnace when in electric heat mode.

Just turn your house batteries off and back on. Should be a switch on your dash or near the door - possibly labeled "aux battery".

What is the temp when you are trying to turn on the electric heat?
