E Bay LED Lights

Has anyone purchased the rv led bulbs from e bay? The prices seem a lot lower than anywhere else.

Yes! I have replaced every Incandescent Bulb inside and several outside of Our DSDP with LED's from various E-Bay Sellers.
Apart from ordering some that were the wrong sizes I have been very happy with All of them. (My Mistake not the Sellers)

That the only place I buy mine. 1156 type, rope, panel, bulk LEDs, etc. Expect it to take from 10-15 days. I've also bought digital volt and amp meters from China.

I've looked at the LED Panels on EBay also and see they come in 48, 36 and 24. Seems like 36 may be the way to go but unsure of difference in brightness. Most of my domes have 2 bulbs and wonder have you replaced with 2 panels or 1 of the 48 panels?. I do know the lights over our dinette are too bright currently which makes choice important. I'm considering doing the inside and the bays at a later date. I'll be interested to hear about the EBay leds. Txs

I started buying them last year and have good results. Seems like if there are probs it's in the ordering wronge department. I bought 25 G4Halogen LED's and like them. We boondock often and I am still amazed at the battery life now. My goal is all inside and outside be swapped except for headlights.

coffeeman, you'll like the 48s. Not overly bright and they come with a bazillion adapters. The ones I bought didn't have the 1156 bayonet style adapter, so I just made my own out of used 1156 bulb bases.

Almost all the lights in the interior of my MH are LED. I even put some in my 20' enclosed. They cut amp draw down to .1 of what incandescent bulbs draw. I.E. a 1156 will draw about 1.1 amps and an LED equivalent, only .1 amp.

Have replaced 13 puck lights with LEDs and added long string of LED lights to awning from Ebay, no issues. Very happy so far.

Will say... take time to do your homework, know what you need and compare LEDs. Lots of variations that look alike but have different brightness, longevity, color tone. Know who you are buying from... some ship from the States and arrive in a few days, some ship from China and take a couple weeks. Watch the shipping charges, make sure its a reliable vendor with lots of positive feedback. If in doubt just order one or two to try and see if they work for your use.

I will add to stay away from the bee hive shaped 1156 type LED lights. I have had several of the individual LED burn out or flicker.

These are what I've considered 20x White 48 SMD LED Panel Car Interior Light Bulb T10 BA9S Dome Festoon 12V | eBay only concern is how they'll work for reading lights.

I have ordered several. you want 200 lumins to match a 10W G4 based halogan used in puck lights. I have found the type 5050 LED chips in warm white the most pleasing.
My suggestion is order 2 or 3 from the vendor and make sure they are bright enough and color you like. Then re-order 10X, 20X to complete the whole coach. you may waste a few $ if you don't like the color.

I got mine from here and they have all worked well for 1 year:
10x 1156 BA15S Car SMD bulb 18-5050 LED Warm White | eBay
Note: I replaced 1/2 of my interior lights (10 each) with LEDs and left the other 1/2 standard bulbs. I use the LEDs when on the battery (12VDC) and use the lights with the standard bulbs when plugged in (13.6VDC converter). My theory is that the LEDs are rated at 12VDC and won't last as long when you are using them on the 13.6V converter.

If they're anything like the ones I got, the base on the right is not the same as a 1156 bulb. I don't know my bases, but I think you need a BA15S base like tomwalt posted.

Good point, I'll send the Vendor a message.

What comes with the 48 LED panels on the left.
1156 and what I made on the right. A little blurry, but you get the idea.

I'm in the process now as I type this of swapping the fluorescent lights over to LED strips. DW told me to keep the light as is over the sink, then it hit me to use both. Leave the original fluroesent light and just install the LED's along side with a switch. The fluroesent light already has a switch, when boondocking use the LED and when camp grounding use the original.

I left the original tube sockets in mine. Almost everything I modify, I do it so it can be put back the way it was if I don't like the mod or sell it and want to keep the additions for another whatever.

How would this 36 led work vs the 48 led and the unit Tomwalt uses which is 18 led? Car Light Panel 36 SMD LED+T10+BA15S+Festoon Bulb Adapter 12V | eBay It comes with the correct adapter so no additional mods would be needed.

That comes with the BA15S/1156 adapter. May not be as bright as a 48 SMD though. Looks like a good price. Haven't compared.
