Door lock solenoid
I have a 2005 Journey that the front door remote locking system is intermittent. Since I have 2 remotes, I know it isn't the remote. Has anyone replaced the solenoid (or relay)?

Suggest replacing the actuator in the door. They're inexpensive and easy to change out. If it's the same as when coach new that's likely your problem component.

Before condemning the solenoid, you may want to check the brass contacts between the door jamb and the door. The remote will not work without good contact or connections with this device. Sometimes they either need cleaning or aligned. Problem I had (which was intermittent) had to do with a loose wire connection to the brass "buttons" in the jamb. You need to remove the brass terminal from the jamb to check the wire connections.
I learned about the fix on this site so you could do a search for this problem and probably find more info.

When mine did that the entire Trimark system had to be replaced; actuator, control box, Winnebago adapter harness to change from old style to new wiring of Trimark.

In my 2005 Horizon, when this happened the problem component was the relay ($16 part).

I know the relay you're talking about ... I just have to find out where it goes. I have the complete wiring diagram, so it shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks for your suggestion.

When I start having a problem with the remote door lock, the first thing I do is polish the two brass contacts in the door and door frame using steel wool. Always corrects the problem for me --- they tarnish a little and contact is lost or inter mitten at best. Also, the door lock actuator can be bought on Ebay for around $4.00 each. These actuators are also the ones used on the compartment door remote locks.

Thanks for the advice. Somebody earlier recommended I do that, and since then I tried that. So far so good, but since it's been intermittent, I'll have to wait and see. Thanks again.
