Curious. Do folks set it so the steps go out and in each time the door opens and closes?

Just wondering.
CampDaven,
Yep, that's the same way we keep ours. The step stays out no matter how many times the door is opened or closed. That is until the engine ignition is turned on and, the door is closed, then it auto-retracts. And as for you saying "no light" comes on, well that's either because one, you don't have one, two, it's burnt out, or three, it's there but, the plug is either corroded or not hooked up. About 99.9999% of the people cannot see the light come on during the day, they don't even know it comes on. It's way more noticable at night, even though it's not a very bright light anyways.

My yellow light under the stairs never worked. So I reworked the light to the step lights. I also put in a LED light. I also changed the step lights and door handle to LED. Now at night my steps are lite up as are my steps. It makes more sense to me than having a light go on and off.
That's just me.

The only time I set the steps to retract while parked is when I'm somewhere a little sketchy or gone from the coach. My thought is with the steps out they have something to stand on to reach in the passenger window. When they are in they would need to be 7 foot tall. Probably not much of a deterrent but better than nothing. :-)
