If your coach is like my '04 Itasca Sunrise, it isn't a matte finish but rather fiberglass that has oxidized over the years. There are a number of YouTube videos explaining the process much better than I can but basically you have to get rid of the oxidation with some sort of buffing process. In very severe cases, it may even require wet sanding with multiple passes of progressively finer sandpaper followed by buffing and/or polishing and then applying several good coats of wax. I just completed our coach and was able to get by without wet sanding but it still took three solid 10+ hour days to complete.
