DEF
Any DEF issues out there? I heard that some DEF is contaminated and ruins the DEF system.

I have had no problems now coming up to 15000 miles on the coach. My buddy has 25,000 miles with no DEF problems.

Once drank part of a glass of sour milk. Decided to shoot all the cows!

Been full-timing since Feb 14, have only used Walmart DEF in 2 1/2 gal containers or Peak 1 gal containers. No problems yet! Have not filled up DEF at a Pilot or Love's etc...

I know of 2 people that bought DEF at a Wal Mart, the seal was not there, and it turned out to be water. People are putting the DEF in their vehicles, refilling with water, and returning to Wal Mart for a refund. I'm not saying don't buy from WM, just make sure the seal under the cap is intact, no matter where you buy it.

DEF is cheaper at the pump. The wal mart here has had trouble with people buying a case of def. Useing it then refilling the jug with water and returning it. DEF is a pain in the rear. I hope they come up with something else soon. We have 3 semi trucks, 1 tractor, a combine and a pickup that take def. We buy in bulk. 300 gallons at a time. ITs half the price of wal mart. But we can justify having a big tank.

No problems. Wal-Mart 2 1/2 gal. price is twice a pump price. Flying J 2-1/2 gal. box = $6.20 gal., in New Caney, TX. Their pump price $2.79 gal. I buy at pump.

Best price on DEF we found at Menards. Couple times per year, regular price $11.99 for 2.5 gal-- currently on sale $7.99. We bought 4 containers, still packed 2/per case, still sealed cardboard from mfr. So should be untampered with. But will be sure to check the seal under lid is in-tact when we use it.
Think sale price good until 2/22? But could check at www.menards.com on sale dates.
Safe travels to all !

Like anything tampered with. The product is not the problem. The tampering is. I get my DEF from the big truck stop pumps. It is cheaper than by the jug and easier to get into the tank.
Almost 30K on the coach with no issues.

41,250 miles and no problems using both Wal-Mart DEF and bulk DEF at many stations.
