I got a rock in the drivers side windshield the other day and was just wondering if anyone knows what one of these units costs to replace on a 2005 Adventurer? Can a regular automotive glass shop get the replacement glass or do I have to go to the Winnebago dealer?

Thanks,
Gary

I had one replaced on an olderf Gulfstream a few years ago. The insurance company gave me a number to call & the glass company did it in my driveway, I left a check for the deductible on the drivers seat. When I came home all was done.

Dealer will get it from Winnie. I had one done last month. Cost was about $1,100 per the installer. I paid my $250 deductible.

My insurance co sent me to a Duncan glass shop. Duncan called me and I got ALL the numbers they needed off the lower corner of the windshield, then they ordered it from Winnie in Iowa. Got it in about a week.

If its just a ding, they can be repaired so you can't even see them. Insurance will probbaly pay all of that.

Installer said my windshield was abut $1,100 he thought. Mine was the right half of 05 Meridian.

We had to replace our passenger-side windshield last fall to the tune of about $1,200. Winnebago factory service did the work and State Farm paid 100% of the glass (and also paid for the Jeep windshield.)

One advantage of being a Florida resident is the no deductible requirement for windshield cracks

Any good automotive glass shop can get you a windshield quickly. As the other poster said, they will replace right in your drive way. They even carry a "Hot Pot" for the butyl rubber they seal it with. Mine cost the insurance company $950.00 installed, 0 deductable. That was just the passenger side windshield.

Does it need to be replaced or can it be repaired?

When ours was new it needed to be resealed; the dealer sent it out to a windshield repair company. So... if you are going to have to pay, it would be better to eliminate the middleman. All that said, insurance will probably cover it especially if they send you to their guy.

Well there's no fixing this one. The crack goes from top to bottom. You guys aren't giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling with the prices you're quoting. My deductible is $2000 so this will be coming out of my pocket. Hopefully when the glass shop finds out it's not an insurance job they will sharpen their pencil a little better.

As you can see, prices vary and so does glass quality. I recently had the driver's side windscreen replaced and specified Guardian (Winnebago original equip) they billed the insurance company $860 US.
