Has anyone had a problem with their remote lock/unlock for getting into their rig. I can sometimes push the button on mine till I'm blue in the face and it won't work. Other times it will work first shot. Yes I replaced the battery in the remote.

Steve,it's a programming issue with the "brain" of the unit...If you look in your supplemental manuals for your 2005 39K,there's a manual for the SCS system. What you'll need to find is the brain box. Mine is BEHIND the fuse panel in the compartment directly under the drivers seat...(outside front lefr driver's side).
Underneath a piece of tape is the reset or "program" button. It explains how to do this in the manual.
I might add that, when I got my coach the panel on the side of the coach wasn't working,so the dealer fixed THAT on the punch list,NOW one of the two key fobs isn't working....Hang in there Steve!!

I have found that my remote will stop working occasionally. It has a new battery. When this happens, I open the remote, remove the battery, put it back in and reassemble. Every time it starts working again. It may be small amounts of corrosion on the battery ends. Who knows, but, so far, it has worked every time.

LK23 is indeed correct in the "cure". I took some paper folded and sized to wedge between the circuit board and cover (both sides and top. Since doing this, I have not had any problems with intermittant malfunctions. It appears that the contact elements for the battery are not quite large enough to keep a mechanical connection with anode and cathode of the battery. Hope this helps...

If I could carry this one step further, when I push my remote I can hear a relay clicking on the driver side behind the breaker panel. At first, neither the door nor the bay locks will lock or unlock.
Now, the bay locks will not lock/unlock even when using the switch on the panel next to the door.

PDB - sounds like rebelsbeach has your answer

Steve - I had a similar problem which I solved. On the door there are 2 spring loaded buttons that mate up to 2 spring loaded buttons on the door frame. They occasionally tarnish up so that they do not make good contact. I took s bit of 600 grit sand paper and polished them up a little. My remote has worked perfectly since.

PDB,when I first got my coach, the remotes and the keyless entry panel would "flash" the lights, but not operate the lights, thus the reprogramming box. In my Vectra, you remove the screws (3 I think),on the fuse panel and it's on a hinge....When you open that "door" you'll find what you're looking for. Follow the instructions in the SCS manual at that point...I can't remember ALL that!!

Adrian,
Thanks much. I found those buttons, cleaned them up and now my door remote works!

Now, if you could give me some magic for the bay doors! Would that 'black box' behind the fuse panel control the bay doors?

Thanks,
Paul

Rebelsbeach,
Thanks for the tip on opening up the fuse panel. I found all sorts of things back there, including the source of a problem I was working on!
I had no Hazard lights or brake lights. When I opened the panel I found the Hazard flasher had been sitting in rainwater and had corroded. Replaced that and hazard prob solved! Now if I could find ny brake light prob.......
Paul
