Brake controller

We are about to buy a brake controller for F 150 to tow Micro Minnie 2106FBS. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to get the factory controller installed? For modern vehicles they may interact with some of the stability control features of the truck and/or even help control sway.

We called two Ford dealers. One never called us back and the other was no help at all. We found a place that specializes in all manner of hitch installations and towing. They have a “basic” brake controller but sounded very knowledgeable. They’ll install a brake controller that we bring in.

I would try calling the dealer parts department. I know for the new Ranger they have a controller they sell. Not sure about any year of F-150, but I don't know why they wouldn't.

You might also try an F-150 forum.

I had that done on my F-150 about about 2 months ago, chose to buy and get it done at the Ford dealership because I believe only they can set the parameters and set your rear view back up system to coordinate with your trailer management system. It didn't take them long to install and had some peace of mind hoping as Ford technicians they knew what and how to install. They did good and all works well

For trucks without factory controllers I really like the Tekonsha P3. Been flawless for years.

Get the factory controller and have it installed and enabled at your Ford dealer. OEM is always the best option.

Definitely get the Ford OEM controller. it will cost you around $100 from online dealer or E bay. It is very easy to install and activate. You will need to get this

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and download Forscan to your laptop.

+1 on the Tekonsha P3. Used the same one on several different trucks and always works well.
