Bathroom door hinge

It bathroom door has a full length hinge , at the mid point there are two 5in sections with integrated springs which keep the door open and provide privacy when using the shower .
These springs are broken and need to be replaced . Anybody know where I could find replacements . Thanks

I doubt you'll find just the springs unless you happen to have an industrial supply house in your area that specializes in springs. We had the same problem a couple years ago and I spent months trying to find the correct springs. Finally I ordered the spring and hinge assembly from Lichstinn Motors in Forest City IA.

It might sound like a simple thing to find just the springs until you open a catalog and find out just how many you have to choose from in that particular length and wire size. There are literally hundreds.

We have the same spring section hinge. What I did with ours was purchase a magnetic cabinet door latch and installed it at the bottom of the door so the door and the wall section it comes in contact with when open line up.

If you do call Lichtsinn, as suggested by others, have your vin # and coach sn ready and ask for Lonnie or David in parts. Excellant people to deal with. They will be able to tell you a lot about your particular coach.

When we bought ours it was in the neighborhood of $20.00 for the assembly.

Would it be a correct assumption that you purchased it from Lichtsinn?

Lichtsinn is a great place to deal with. They are one mile north of the Winnebago factory, so if they need parts, they call in the morning and get them that afternoon -- speeds things up immeasurably!

As I recall we ran into the same situation. When the new assembly came I took the springs off and put them on the old brass hinge. It now has 2 silver springs on the brass hinge piece.

At first I just put on the whole assembly, but it looked so out of place I decided to just use the springs. The silver springs aren't nearly as noticable as the 5" silver hinge.

I got mine from media camping on rt. 1 in delaware county PA for $20 they had it in their parts warehouse. If U R ever in the area stop in and check them out. The place looks like a dump but they have everything and also a very knowligible parts guy.

Gee, I have a 99 Adventurer with a gold shower door. You have to lift up and pull out to open the door and lift up and pull shut to close it and if you dont lift high enough, it scape of the frame. Could it be I have broken hinges also? I havent looked close enough to see whay it is like that.....Thanks

Owner of a 2001 Winnebago Adventurer 32V also.....I have been trying to figure out how to keep the bath door open when in the shower....I never saw the springs in the door hinge.

So, could you give me:

1. Lichstinn Parts phone #;
2. The part # for the hinge/spring assy.

I expect the cost to be around $20, as stated previously.

I will be ordering as soon as I get this information.
I suspect that I will just remove the section of hinge with the springs and ONLY replace the springs as Hikerdogs did. Hummmmm, maybe I'll have to look in my shop for some gold spray paint.........
I'll let you know how I make out.

Thanks for the info, this forum has been and I expect will continue to be a great source of information and help for me.
Regards,
Paul

Hinge arrived , sprayed it gold but think bronze may have been a betters match but it looks good .$20 including p&p. , don't need part number and yes it's only the center section of hinge held by 6 screws
