auto step problem

Hello all. Having trouble with the steps on my 96 Winnebago adventurer. They wont go all the way up without a little help and they are't extending all the way. And when extended the switch to have stay out doesn't work, they still go up when the door is closed.
Anything I can check?
Thanks

Check the magnets on the screen door and the stepwell. Make sure they are lined up.

Search out Step Motor Issues at www.irv2.com there are lots of posts there about this.

Steps are in a place where they take a lot of abuse from the weather and that means they need lube more often than some things so one of the first and easy items to checkis to do a quick lube to see they are free to move without strain. The going in is sure to be the magnets as mentioned or some part of the electrical. Good chance it is the magnet as it is easy to get knocked off its best spot.
