Atwood Water Heater 2003 Adventurer

How do I get to the waterline and elect. On back of heater to remove heater? Heater is mounted just behind front pass. Wheel. No means of getting to it from underneath and inside compartment is only a tiny space to get to the back of it. Barely enough room for my hand. It's a 2003 Winnie adventurer. Heater is an atwood gas/elect. 10gal. I wanted to put a heating element in it.

If this is the stock heater, I am seeing the heating element on the front. Am I missing the question or is it not possible to replace from the front?

Sorry if missing the question!

It's an atwood 10 gal. Propane/electric. The heating element is in the rear.

My manuals say the element is in the rear.i've heard others say that winnebago screwed up the design by not putting an access plate on the bottom or side., which I guess they did starting in the 2005 adventurers

I removed water heater, found reset button, pushed ,everything works fine . then before i put back in, I cut a door on the under side of the heat compartment. now I can open door, reach up to reset if needed and unhook all lines if necessary. winnebago should have done that in the beginning. instead, they just made it harder for everyone to servive the waterheater. unless that was their original idea.
