Has anyone ever been annoyed with driver side cupholder being too low to safely use while driving? I have tried using the cupholder on the left wall of driver side, but since I am right handed it is even more unsafe.
The cockpit table is not recommended to be in use while driving, it is
29 inches tall so it is not practical to use anyway.
So I got the idea of buying a shorter pedestal 17-20 inches tall; so it would make the existing table more like a cocktail table. I could then mount detachable cupholders to it and it would be perfect.
But I am struggling to find a leg pedestal, or post pedestal that will fit
I bought a Heng
https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/139873405 that came very close. I used duct tape trying to get it tight in the upper and lower bases and it works just enough for me to like the idea.
Does anyone know where I can get this simple part or buy something from a box store that will work?
Stowable Table Pedestal
Finish: Anodized
Size:
2-3/8" Outer Diameter
Post is
tapered on both ends to 2-1/4"
Install Height: 17"
Overall Height: 18.25" (measured end to end)
Springfield make the current posts for Winnebago. They say they discontinued the shorter post; but they will make one for around $70. Part #3660031-A. Yup for a $5 part !!!
I may not have a choice but fork up the money, or keep what I jerry-rigged, but I am asking to ensure I am not missing some other option?
