2007 Journey 34h

I am purchasing a used 2007 Journey 34h and the dealer indicates that it has a 5.9 Cummins rated at 300 hp...The brochure from Winnebago says the '07 Journey 34h has a 7.2 Cat engine rated at 350 hp...what's going on? I don't really have a preference just wonder if I can trust the Winnebago info sheets?

If I remember correctly both engines were offered for a while. Then Cat left the market.
I doubt the dealer would claim 300 hp if he could claim 350.

According to the 2007 Journey Brochure the 34H had the 300HP Cummins ISB 5.9L as standard, with an option for the 350HP Caterpillar C7 7.2L engine instead.

I just read the 2007 Journey brochure today and in it it says nothing about Cummins and lists the 7.2 Cat as standard in the model 34h...

Did you read the brochure I linked to in my earlier post. The equipment grid clearly shows the Cummins as standard (S) and the Cat as optional (O). (Page 10 of the pdf)

Also page 2: the Cummins is standard, the Cat is optional on the 34H.

What Chris said..
The Meridian came only one way: fully loaded, except the SE, that was trying to compete with the Journey..

The Journey DID have a Cummins as the stock engine but there were very few sold. When we were looking at these new, I never saw one on a lot. I had a neighbor with one in an ‘07 36G, and it was a dog compared to the C7, but he also traveled heavy.. Great engine, but its not a C7

Perhaps I can ease your mind. A 300 Cummins pushes our 2007 Journey SE just fine. We usually flat tow a Ranger King Cab and occasionally dolly tow our Camry XLE. Yes, it likes to pull steep grades (Ocatillo to Jacumba CA, Verde Valley to Flagstaff AZ, Salt River Canyon AZ, Blue Mountains ID, etc.) at 45mph, but we've not noticed too many rigs blowing past us.

And, knock on wood, it has given us no problems.

Contact Winnebago with Serial # or Freightliner with VIN to verify engine installed.

Go to Freightliners web site and look up the 2007 Journey chassis and you'll find all kinds of info about the chassis, including engine availability, tranny, brakes etc. I think you'll find it useful.

Or,
Simply open up the bed or whatever kind of engine access you have and LOOK AT THE ENGINE. About 99.99999999999999% of the time, The Cummins is RED and, about 99999999999999999999% of the time, a CAT is YELLOW. Not to mention, if it's the CAT, it will say ACERT on the valve cover.

Please look again. The 350HP engine was an upgrade option. I'm feel bad that you are struggling about this. The dealer didn't do wrong by you unless he advertised it had the 350. It's a good engine and strong enough for your size coach. You just can't race the bib boys up the steep grades and win.
Happy trails.
