2002 Horizon Itasca 3126 Cat air lock

Hi Everyone,
Went to change my fuel filter on my 3126 cat. I’ve looked all over and I believe I only have the 1 filter. I didn’t fill the filter before restarting. I was told that I didn’t have to. I know now the previous statement is bs. The coach ran for about 45 seconds before shutting off. I removed the filter and filled it with fuel but still no luck. I’ve looked everywhere for an additional fuel filter and primer but can’t find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Josh

There's a good chance you only have one filter. There was a period around 2002-2004 that Freightliner only put one filter on CAT engines--if so that single filter should be a 2 micron one. You are also unlikely to have a priming pump, although once can be added. If you do have a 2nd filter I would expect it to be located near the top of the engine on the passenger side, as seen on my C7 in the pictures in this thread: Relocated Fuel Filter & Added Priming Pump.

Thanks for your reply! Confirmed that I don’t have that 2nd filter on the top.
Thanks

All,
Just wanted to follow up on the solution and give back. Ran across this thread from another forum and it was exactly what I needed.

https://www.irv2.com/forums/f124/fue...nd-559009.html

I will add that the above mentioned fuel return line is on the rear of the engine. This worked perfect.

Thanks and I hope this helps someone else.

Josh
