2000 Suncruser Steps

My step base is falling apart. I replaced the bolts with longer bolts that go through the floor of the last step. But now after a year the step floor is caving in. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated

had the same issue on our '00 Suncruiser. rather than screw with it (pun intended ) I had the whole shebang rebuilt and reinforced.
