Wiring Buick Envision

I’m trying to wire the tail lights but don’t know if I should tap into the blinker wire or the brake light wire.

etrailer.com has wiring solutions for your vehicle. Generally you are going to need to use diodes to prevent feedback into the car's circuits. These kits will have complete instructions on how to do it.

You will need to determine if you have a three wire or two wire system. The three wire system uses a separate turn signal light while the two wire system uses same bulb (with two filaments) to provide tail lights and turn/stop lights. If your motorhome uses the two wire system and your towed uses the three wire system, you will need an adapter as well.

Thanks for the reply. The toad has a separate wire for each the turn and the brake. But they both end up controlling the same bulb.

I wouldn't think that is going to be a problem especially if you use a wiring kit for your vehicle.

We bypassed the whole "wire my toad" piece and went with this. https://www.amazon.com/Towmate-TM22G...gateway&sr=8-5 It's been 2 years and all is still working fine. Just throwing that out as an option to running wire through the car and trying to tie into the wiring.
