Weight Distribution Hitch Hike 100FLX

Getting ready to pick up our new Hike 100 FLX next weekend and I can't wait. We our downsizing from a gvrw 9000 lb travel trailer. We used the recurve weigh distribution hitch system with 10000 lb rated bars. Is that too big for the Hike 100 that has a gvrw of 4200 lbs?

If so, any recommendations on another system?

Towing with a Ford F150 eco boost max towing package.

Thanks in advance!

500# bars will give you a better ride, and lessen the likelihood that the Hike will bounce.

Yep, I agree with Marine. Those 10K bars will tear up your featherweight trailer..

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get an FLX from?

From Lazydays. I went to the Tampa RV show and met a salesman from the Minnesota dealership who was actually really good. I've heard horror stories about Lazydays so I will be thorough during the PDI. We pick her up on Saturday.

So, what all us inquiring minds really want to know is... How much? Did you trade in your bigger TT? I was thinking the TT market was kinda soft but the prices I'm seeing says maybe not. BTW, what model of the Hike did you go for.
We went smaller last year and are very happy so far.

I just pickup up a Micro Minnie FLX from LazyDays Tampa as well. I brought the Anderson WD hitch and hooked it all up in the parking lot before towing home 200 miles. The Anderson is impressive, it’s lightweight, makes no noise, and you don’t have to undo any bars to reverse. It leveled our SUV perfectly and I didn’t have any swaying.

We are picking her up tomorrow. I can't wait. We opted for the Blue Ox Track pro so we'll see how it does. Enjoy your micro minnie. I'm interested in how you like the FLX package.

Around 45K with registration, taxes, etc. We opted for the 1316SB which is their "toy hauler" model. We downsized from a Grand Design Imagine. We bought property in the Rockies and with the switchbacks, the GD would be too big. Plus we liked the FLX package to take the dogs, regardless of weather, while we ski or mountain bike.

The FLX package puts a smile on my face. I realize you can’t run the AC all day but on driving days, the ability to take breaks and stop for meals and be able to run your AC without a generator is a complete game changer as far as I’m concerned.
