Vista 30T towing capacity

Purchasing a 2013 Vista 30 T. I want to flat tow my 2018 Jeep GC Summit, about 4800lbs. Has anyone towed this much with the Vista 30T ???
Thanks
Jim

30T Towing

Jim - I tow 5000 pounds behind my 27N, which is the same chassis as the 30T (18K). When loaded I’m about 250 pounds under GCWR. Hitch is rated at 5K and 500 vertical tongue weight on your rig. I think you are good to go. Roll it over the scales to check your GCWR when you get ready to hit the road. Safe travels!

Tow rating '13 Vista 30T

Looking at a 2013 Vista 30T with 5k as the towing limit as most of them do. My question is... I plan to pull a 4900 lb Jeep GC Summit and does anyone have some experience towing that much weight behind a Vista 30 T ??

Thanks
jim

Jim--to get an accurate towing limit, you need to have your Vista weighed, loaded. Then you will be able to calculate maximum available towing using the GCWR numbers provided by Winnebago. You should probably have the Jeep weighed as well; many times the curb weight provided by the manufacturer is not accurate.

Also consider that the Ford V10 will have no problem towing, but you will need a supplementary braking system to make sure you can STOP.

Towing using a 30T

First things first. Check motorhome.com for recommended vehicles to tow, the maximum speed you can tow at, and the gear you run in.
Second, check out a 5 Star Tune Up. They are located in Florence, South Carolina and the money spent is well worth it. I had them tune my 2015 30T this past spring as I began a National Parks Tour. More power and better shifting. I don't tow, but can only imagine the improvement you will experience. Oh, I also had them install a Banks Cold Air Intake at the same time. I couldn't figure out how to check/change the OEM filter. Happy Travels!
