Lowering engine noise from doghouse

I recently bought a new Adventurer 27N with the Ford V10. The noise from the engine was much too much for my taste. I bought some professional spray on sound deadener spray. Then I removed the doghouse cover and turned it over.... outside. Choosing a nice warm day, I applied six cans of spray to the bottom side of the doghouse cover. I let each one dry and harden before applying the next then reattached the cover. The noise is now much more tolerable, probably 50% lower up front when driving. Now my wife and I can comfortably argue about which offramp to take next.

Hi Doug,
Sounds like a great idea! As I travel with my dog, I keep a thick layer of old blankets on the floor behind the doghouse for her to lay upon, and that too deadens the noise. Creativepart also discusses other sound-deadening materials such as Dynamat.
