Lippert model 1817941 power jack cuts out

The above-identified power jack has started to randomly stop working on both retract and extend; after the motor cuts out, I press the retract/extend switch and the motor does not turn back on. After a few minutes it starts working again.

What would cause this? I see nothing in the manual about thermal protection, which is my first thought, although I don't know why it would have a problem now as the trailer is basically unloaded; just moving it around the yard.

I never determined a cause. The dealer replaced it under warranty.

Right off the bat I noticed the new one was significantly quieter than the old one, even under load.

As yet I've had no issues with the new unit cutting out.

Thanks for the update, I just replaced my jack too. So this makes me feel better that I did not miss something.
