Leveling my rv

We have a new view and are new to the rv. My question is should I put blocks under both back tires on a dual or will that put to much strain on the tire.

I'm not sure what you mean about strain on the tire. I have a couple of 2"x10"x2' blocks that I will use to drive onto if I need to get the back tires a bit more level. I will put it long way under both tires. That said it's an assumption that I can get it that way. I've also only blocked one tire before but I am doing it for just a bit of stability when jacking the RV up. I always try to get the 4 wheels onto something planted when jacked up.

Blocks under only one tire would be more strain on the tire since that tire would have to hold all or most of the weight on that end of the axle.

Thanks for the replies I will make wooden ramps for the driveway and buy lighter plastic ones for the road for all four rear tires.

You can get plastic blocks which are twice as wide (think two blocks side by side) that are perfect for your duals when out on the road. You are correct, you need something under both tires when leveling.

You may want to get yourself a LevelMatePro system. Once installed and linked with your smartphone, it can can tell you what height blocks you need to bring the coach into level. Much easier than trial and error even with a level.

Take the leap and have HWH Automatic levelers installed, get the work done at the HWH plant in Moscow IA as they do it right and you won't have any problems. Talk to your dealer to see if you can get a discount in price. It can cost you up to $4,700 but worth every penny once you spend a season using spacers to level the RV. which by the way doesn't ever really level the View. Having it level stops RV from contorting which can't be good for things like the slide-out etc. I say all this from experience. Good luck

If you want to go the HWH route, you will have to purchase them through Lichtsinn RV in Forest City. They have the exclusive rights to sell the Sprinter HWH jacks in the US.
