Installing aTekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller

I'm new at this...
Looking under the dash on the left side of the steering wheel is a black box with a female connector, I've got know idea what it is. Does anyone know what this is for?
There is another white plug I hope is the plug for the controller. I have a 2009 Journey 37h.
Any help would be appreciated.

I cannot say for sure for your coach, but many Freightliner chassis have a six-pin plug that matches this pigtail:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Freightline...8AAOSwZkJUUpPl

If you buy the pigtail, you can splice it to the Tekonsha pigtail. Then the installation in your coach will be plug-and-play. I prefer that to splicing into the factory wiring.

The fellow that has the ebay account is fantastic to work with. I texted him with my type of brake controller and he volunteered to make me a pigtail with the same colored wires as my the controller which made the splicing fool proof.

I would like to plug and play too, however I've been under the dash again today and nothing to match that end.

Nice,
I'm still looking for a plug under the dash that looks like the one l1v3fr33ord1 indicated. A custom plug would be great.

The plug is there in your 2009.

If you have a panel on the sidewall, near the floor, to the left of the driver's left foot, remove it and look there.

Other posts say it is tucked up near the steering column. Perhaps this will help.

Think I found it

Please Take a look at this plug end because I think I found it. I also will reach out to the ebay person for confirmation he can make a custom plug for it.

I did remove the plastic foot panel to the left of the steering column and was able to look high up behind the - and found what I think is the correct plug. Please take a look at my picture let me know what you think thank you.

It sure looks as if it matches up with the pigtail on eBay.

The black round connector on the box in the first picture is the diagnostic connector, similar to the OBDII you find on passenger cars.

Etrailer.com is a great resource and can help with location of plugs.

Elec.brake connector

Hello, the round connector you show is the chassis diagnostic connector for the engine/trams.etc.The last 6 port rect.connector is for the brake control as the other pictures that are shown.I went through all of this installing a brake controller on my 2005 Journey.Good luck:
