What year, the newer models are NOT flat towable (all wheels on the ground).

Towed a 2003 for quite some time never had a problem. I think you're the previous generation so look here - https://www.etrailer.com/vehicle/2000/Honda/CR-V

Need tow plate, bar, wiring, supplemental brake and if you can install yourself you'll save quite a bit of money.

well after further investigation ,apparently the Honda CRV is a 2008.I did check on e trailer but they only showed hitched for the car to tow something not be towed. I emailed them for some help.

I would want a more direct info on towing so would first look for the manual for that year and model of car. Recreational towing if often the phrase to look under for the info.
copied from 2008 CRV manual
EDIT:
Your vehicle can be towed behind a
motorhome at legal highway speeds
up to 65 mph (100 km/h). Do not
exceed 65 mph (100 km/h).
Otherwise, severe transmission
damage will occur. To avoid damage
to the 4WD system, your vehicle
must be towed with all four wheels
on the ground (flat towing).

Here's info from eTrailer.

https://www.etrailer.com/faq-flat-to...honda-crv.aspx

A 2008 CRV is flat towable unless the fact that it's a 4-wheel drive model interferes with that some how. Certainly the 2-wheel drive model is flat towable.

The absolute determiner about flat towability is the car's owner manual. Look for "Towing" or "Recreational Towing" for the official word on this.

You will need the following items:

A Base Plate
A Tow Bar
Safety Cables
Tow Bar Wiring / Lighting
A Supplemental Braking System

Expect a cost between $2,500 to $3,500-$4,000 depending on the equipment you purchase and if you DIY the install or have an outside shop do the install.

Those procedures are the same for my 2014, expect they want an addition fuse removed. I guess not much had changed between 2008 and 2014.they are a great vehicle to tow. I still use a checklist for the procedures every time, as leaving off something or doing it out of order can do severe damage.

We just bought a used 2012 Honda CRV AWD for flat towing. It works great. We had a Falcon tow bar and cables and we had Camping World install the braking system, fuse disabler and tow bars to car for around $2900. We called around and most places charged about the same. It took about five weeks to schedule the work. I copied the instructions from the manual and keep handy to make sure I perform everything correctly to prepare it for towing.

I toe a 2013 u can do up to 2014. Mine has a power cut off switch installed for toeing.
Plus in the Manuel I keep a copy in my console there is a transmission ritual you need to do before towing. It's like go in reverse then thru all the gears then ideal in nuteraul. Look it up in your manual
yours is probably different

CRVs up 2015 can be flat towed. I installed a Roadmaster tow hitch which has work well for 4 years full time.

I don’t think 2015 can be flat towed.

The last year to flat tow a CRV was 2014.

I towed a 2012 CRV for 6 years behind my 40 foot DP but I downsized to a 32 foot Gasser and bought a Brake Buddy Select II with all the goodies (wireless controller) but health and age made me downsize again to a 24 foot Triple Wonder RTB which can't tow a car. The CRV is my wife's car and she still loves it.
