Flat toad now will not move

2013 Honda allwheel. Flat tow it all the time. This time when I unhooked it would not move. Put it in low floored it crawled a little bit tried reverse same thing. Several hours later when tow truck arrived started up and drove.
Anyone know what caused it?
Thanks Kenn

Have you verified that particular car can be safely flat towed at the speeds and time that it was towed? I would not have expected it to be allowed for that setup but I have not checked the books.
My first guess would be that the transmission was too hot to function.

What is a “Honda allwheel?”

That’s not the name of a Honda vehicle. Honda does make a number of “All Wheel Drive” models. Can you tell us the model name of the Honda you are towing?

Assuming (dangerous?) that it is a CRV, this note might be one that is easy to miss.

Towing CRV

Everything should have been OK If you followed the procedure of running the transmission in Drive for 2 minutes, then running it in neutral for 2 minutes.
IF, your tow brake system emergency plug is pulled or shorts out, it can lock your CRV brakes, at least my invisibrake does. I pull the fuse on the invisibrake to disable the brake lock.

I just looked it up , and, while a FEW articles INDICATE AWDs can be towed , ALMOST ALL say doing so will destroy the drive train.
Perhaps ...... the actual answer is dependent on how LONG you tow it , and if the damage can/does accumulate to a GRAND FINALE of destruction.

OP has been MIA since 7/10. There's not much point in posting more ideas, particularly if we don't know what specific vehicle he has.

Check Transmission Fluid Level

I would confirm that your transmission fluid level is OK
