Base Plate 2014 CRV

I have the Ready Brute Elite Tow bars with Road Master connectors that I used with my old Toad. I have just purchased a 2014 Honda CRV EXL. Does anyone have experience installing a Road Master Base Plate on the CRV? I watched a U-Tube Video, but they use a Lift... I would be doing it from the Ground. Is this difficult to do yourself or should I find a professional to do it?

I used a pair of vehicle ramps I had because you need underneath to take molding off and pull light wiring if you go hardwired.

Don’t let the lack of a lift stop you. This is my Honda Fit on a set of home made lift ramps that I used when I installed my baseplate. The Fit sits much closer to the ground than a CRV.

Well I wimped out. Found a place in town that installed everything for me... Base Plate, Brake cable, wired the tail lights and install a Fuse master so I don't have to mess with pulling the fuse. Now I'm ready to Rock and Roll. Life is good.

The ReadyBrake products are a great alternative to the more expensive, and IMHO the more vulnerable braking systems that depend on electronics to work. Also, there's nothing to remove or install each time you tow. Hook up a couple of cables and you're ready to go. Those that own them, including me, by and large like them. The ReadyBrake is a braking system that works with pretty much any tow bar, the ReadyBrute Elite is braking system/tow bar combination:

Ready Brake and Ready Brute Home
