Andersen Weight Distribution Owners

I'm very interested in a Andersen WDH but was wondering what owners do with the hitch when the trailer is not being towed like in storage or just parked for a few days. It looks to me if a person just unhooks the tension plate there are a lot of parts that could get stolen and those parts are not cheap. I was thinking that disconnecting the chains so that only the frame brackets are in place might work. What do you owners do with your hitches? Thanks to all that respond.

I don't have one, but I don't tend to keep the hitch attached when not in use. Not only due to theft concerns, but my also my shins.

Can you remove any parts without disconnecting the chains?

When at a campsite, I just drop the tension plate and leave everything else connected. When I store, removing the nuts, washers, spring bushing, etc. is quick and easy. It gets stored in the cargo area.
