Hi Al & Deb,
I believe that dog is chasing an Alligator Lizard in the Air, if I'm not mistaken.
Wonderful report.
Thanks, Eagle5

Just saw your post. My wife and I are planning a five night stay at Rincon Parkway for the first time during the later part of March 2023. Staying in campsite 1. Do you have any good advice and pointers? This will be our first "dry camping/boondocking" with our newly acquired 2014 Itasca Suncruiser 37F.

Thanks

I think you’ll have a great time! We use it as a base to visit Ventura and Santa Barbara, but it’s also great just watching and listening to the ocean. There’s a pretty good snack shop in the county park at Faria Beach if you want a breakfast burrito and good coffee some morning. No fires on the rip rap are allowed but you can bring a propane fire pit. Also, we bring our bikes because there are great trails in the area, but theft in the area is high, so bringing super strong chains or taking them inside at night is a good idea. We’ve never had an issue keeping them attached to our vehicle. Have a great time with your multi-million dollar view and enjoy. Also, the sites are exactly 44 feet, so keep that in mind, especially if pulling a car. That said, this is our favorite place to camp! Have fun!

nice report and great pics. Where did you stay in Avila and Paso? Sounds like not your style, but we really enjoyed Flying Flags Avila (I can see you down next to the pier or road in front of FF) and Cava in Paso (though not the heavy partiers that seemed to roll in every weekend we were there!) Safe travels to you...

Thanks! We love both FF Avila beach and Cava Robles! I posted about each, and we will visit Avila Beach again this year. Such a great view and excellent location. Also love bicycling in both locations. Safe travels to you, too!

Thanks for the update on Rincon Parkway. Not being from that area and it appears your coach might be the same or close to the length of mine, where did you find the best place to fill up (fuel) before spending five nights there?

We usually fill up at Costco’s when we can find them. If going south to the parkway, there is a Costco in San Luis Obispo we always stop at. Going north to Rincon, there is a Costco in Oxnard we have used several times.
