Texas State Parks

Any idea when Texas State Parks might open for new reservations? Is there some schedule as to when Texas expects to re-open this or that facility?

We have gone to South Padre Island at the end of every summer for some years now and I would like to have some idea if we will be able to go this year as well. The place we go to (Isla Blanca Country Park) is not a state park but we generally stop at several State Parks on our way there.

Last week I checked a couple of Texas State Parks after June 1 and they showed "not available online" and they listed a phone number. But when I checked today that has been changed to just show "W" for Walk-in and that went all through the summer.

This is definitely a change from last week. So, I don't know what to tell you. Last week it looked like you couldn't reserve online but you could by calling the reservation number.

Prone to change , depending on how the virus goes and if it gets totally out of control in any specific spot. More rural areas with less pospital capacity may tend to get over filled quicker than the metro areas but it is slower in working it's way into those areas which have had less traffic.
Hard to say what the situation will be by summers end as it depends on how much the public begins to move, forget the distancing, and masks so that the disease spreads and comes back.
Watching the news of this weekend, I would not expect things to be much better by fall.

Thanks. I sent an email this morning asking about future reservations but have not gotten a response.
