I have a 1994 Winnebago Vectra with Quicky electric steps. While driving down the road they will come out on their own free will.when i turn on the igniton they will some times come in &stay in .Iknow when you turn the igniton on they are supposed to stay in .Is there a selonide that works the steps? sure hope someone can help me. thanks.
There is a sensor on your screen door that is there to trigger the steps to open so you do not fall out the door. There maybe a loose wire or it may have come off it's mounting. The step motor should have a fuse you can pull so it will stay in until you can get it fixed. However, be careful when you stop and try to exit the MH the steps will not come out.

I have a 2011 Damon Outlaw toy hauler that has a problem with the rear steps opening and closing when I drive in wet weather. They work ok in dry weather or when parked in wet or dry weather. Ground wire appears to be good. What can I check to fix this problem?
Perhaps the door is " jiggling", as you drive, causing the contacts on the screen to fluctuate, causing the steps to activate. The space between the contacts should be narrowed so the "current" isn't interupted.
My steps came out while traveling (unbeknownst to me), so I pulled over to park; steps hit curb, here are results:
Would not retract, even with a crowbar. Removed steps on the spot:
Drove to repair shop & ordered new steps. Damaged beyond repair. Faulty sensor switch, as stated above. Repair shop installed new steps. $$$$.

We had the same thing happen to us, outcome set of new stairs. There is also a magnet ( I think ) on the screen door that can also cause this to happen.
