Round trip West MI to Hot Springs AR area

Planning early November trip south in our Cambria 26 to see sights - Abraham Lincoln national memorial for example - hopefully some color and warm up in Hot Springs. We like State & National Park campgrounds as well as Corp. of Engineers. Budget is 7-8 days. Appreciate any/all ideas.
