Quartzsite Campground

Normally boondock while visiting Q'Site for all the hoopla, but this year need to stay in an RV Park as my DW is on oxygen and need to keep her concentrator turned on. Any recomendations on resonable parks. Have dogs so must be pet friendly.

Merry Christmas

We have stayed at and are stopping Tuesday at 88 Shades RV Park. (575 W Main St
Quartzsite, 928 927-6339) It's reasonable, clean, and has easy access. They also have a handy RV wash right there, which is great if you've just been through the Tehachapi with snow (2009!).

We allways stay at Brenda. Brenda has 4 or 5 parks and is only 10 miles or so East of Quartzsite, Of course we like to relax and not get run over; They also have Music jam sessions 4/5 times per week. We like that.

We stay at the Coyote Ridge RV park in Bouse. It's about 25 miles from Q and costs $165 per month plus electricity. It's also about 25 miles from Parker where there is a Safeway and a Walmart. It is pet friendly.

Just a tip on where not to stay: We checked in one night at the park near the major intersection of 1-10 and 95. They put us on the south end, right next to the freeway. Ouch! that was the noisiest place we have ever stayed in. Trucks with cupped out tires, motor cycles, loud exhaust, It was awful! Some folks stay there all winter. Go figger. I even have ear plugs. They didn't work. Too noisy. We left early the next morning for Yuma.

We made reservations at the Shady Lane RV park on 95 North, not far from Main St. We always stay there when we make our pilgrimage to Quartzsite each year in mid Jan. We like the owner, Jean Winters, who's always helpful in accommodating us during her busy season.

We recently received an e-mail invite from Desert Vista RV park in Salome AZ, and may check it out while we're in the area.

Happy Holidays & Safe Travels
