Auburn CA trip report

Here's our trip report for our second stop on our tour of Northern CA in June. We stopped at the Gold Country, the Coast, the redwoods, and the wine country. What a breath of fresh air after the last few months of being indoors.

Ahhh, the banana slugs! Looks like and area we'll have to detour to when we visit our son in Washington state. Love northern CA! That bridge is a tall one but not uncommon for some of those areas! Thanks for sharing...

Thanks, Al! It’s a great area. Yes, that’s a tall bridge, but the tallest in California, and 4th highest in the US at 730 feet, is the Foresthill Bridge. You can just see a small piece of it in the photo. Here’s a link, if interested. :-)

Now that is quite the bridge! South of us, in Sedona AZ, they had to erect fencing along the sides of a bridge to prevent people from jumping to their deaths. It was the most popular place in AZ at the time for people to go to wanting to end their lives. Now every time I see tall bridges, I wonder about that.

Yikes, I never thought of that! Since this is CA, there are probably nets everywhere. :-)
