Brought the RV home today to start loading it for Wednesday. It's a bit early but it's going to rain a lot in the next few days and I was excited to get going. Unfortunately, that rain is forecast for all next week in Waco, too.

Oh well, we were not planning on doing ANYTHING once we got there. Just getting OUT!

So, I mentioned to my wife about the Lake Whitney COE parks that were suggested above. The one I said I'd never heard of above... well, she reminded me we went there last year.

When she described our time there I remembered the campground. We didn't have a good site, we thought we booked a site near the lake - that's what the campground map showed - but there was a thick stand of trees and march land between our site and the lake and we couldn't even see the lake.

Hard to believe it was so unmemorable that I said "Never heard of it." That's what you get when you talk to a 70 year old.

Hah, not by a long shot. The perpetual construction makes it a nightmare. And, going anywhere near, or through Austin is a real pain.

We loved Mother Neff State Park. The RV sites are excellent!

What you are describing sounds more like Lake Whitney State Park - on the other side of the lake.

When you Guys get up to WA, check out all the COE Park on the Columbia and Snake Rivers. All are very nice.
