Stinky Slinky

Posted 06-07-2023 at 08:34 PM by rachetjaw

Looking for ideas and locations for mounting a Stinky Slinky hose compartment under my Winnebago View 24d. Bought a Rhino hose and diameter is just under 4 1/2 inches. Went to Home Depot looking for a residential sewer pipe but the biggest I.D. I found was 4 inches. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Thanks

A lifetime of camping

My oldest brother brought his young family to Colorado after being released from his service in the Navy at the end of the Cuban Missile Crises. A year earlier, my mom and dad along with my other two brothers and one sister left the bitter winters of Minnesota to start a new life there at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. As a nine-year-old I had envisioned life in the west as an old western movie complete with cowboy hats and six-guns. By the end of the first summer I realized that mountain tops,...

Tote Hoist

Updated 05-26-2023 at 04:30 AM by HiBanky (Grammar correction)

My wife and I have been on the road full time for four and a half years and have seen a growing trend in the volume of campers especially at the end of each week. I attribute this dramatic increase in weekenders to the lingering manic like urge to escape from covid prison. You can’t fault them for craving the outdoors after two years of house arrest but all these new fugitives have made it difficult to find a spot to park. We are especially fond of Army Corps campgrounds and they seem to be a favorite...

Spare tire relocation to tongue

Posted 05-17-2023 at 06:33 AM by RocknRoll (Rocknroll's Blog)

Here is a weight distribution mod I recently performed.

After getting rid of my (2) 6V batteries (150 lbs.) from the tongue and replacing it with a single lithium (45 lbs.) in the pass-thru, it was an opportunity to move the spare tire from the rear bumper to the front and redistribute some load back to the tongue.

Preparation involved re-routing the propane line and electrical wiring.

I found a spare tire winch on Amazon for a 2007 F-250 that had the...

TPMS including Inspection and Maintenace

Posted 05-17-2023 at 03:57 AM by RocknRoll (Rocknroll's Blog)

IMO, the 50 lbs. cold (for my tires) is NOT a hard number. There are multiple factors that should be taken into account. Before a road trip I'll do a complete tire inspection checking for cracking, tread abnormalities and finally a pressure check with a gauge taking into account what the temperature swing may be that day.

This time of the year, especially in the SE, you can still have very chilly mornings and by mid-day the outside temperature can increase 40 degrees or more. I'll...
