2006 Winnebago Journey fresh water dump T handl

Posted 11-10-2021 at 03:04 PM by ETofflemire

I recently pulled too hard on the fresh water dump T handle. The valve was not opening during the winterizing. Next thing I have the T handle and three feet of cable in my hand. Darn that can’t be good. So I went to Winnie owners and I’m not the first with similar issues. The dump for fresh water is not a plastic 1/2 inch hose as I anticipated, it is not difficult to find the 1 1/2 inch ABS drain once you roll the passenger side slide out. The access panel to the valve and pluming from the water tank is large enough to do any repairs needed. In my case it was a stuck valve and a loose Allen screw that had let go the T handle cable where it is attached to the remote valve. I freed up the valve with a little penetrating oil worked the valve until it operated freely and I fed the wire back in loosened the Allen screw and reattached the cable, all done, in less than an hour. Man was the access panel stuck closed with sealant that was the most difficult part of the fix. Thanks Winnie owners for the info.
