50 amp in only 30 amps showing and available, why?

Posted 06-14-2021 at 04:54 AM by Ding

I have 2006 Journey 36G, and I have 120 v on both legs of power to my 50 amp breaker, but there is only 30 amps showing on my control panel, and there is only 30 amps available. The power coming in is there on both L1 and L2 at the transfer switch, and I have tried 2 different power sources with same result. Any ideas?

I know you did this post a couple years ago, but it’s interesting because that happened to us last weekend. After unplugging it and re-plugging it and turning the breaker off and on a few times it finally registered as 50 amp and worked properly. We’ve owned the motorhome for a year, and that was the first time it happened. And, hopefully, the last!
