Forza Design Failure #2: Windshield Shade

Posted 09-14-2020 at 09:38 AM by 1GRN1

Our 2017 Forza 38W is obviously an attempt by Winnebago to produce a reduced-cost Class A diesel pusher. Lots of consumer comfort items are missing. One such item is a windshield daytime window shade. Sometimes we're inside and the front of the coach faces west and you get the afternoon sun. It's often highly desirable to see out your huge picture window, but at the sacrifice of privacy and increased electric power consumption for air conditioning. A motorized windshield shade with both day and night shades is available from the manufacturer, but WGO chose neither to include it or to offer it as factory or dealer installed option. What was WGO Marketing Dept. thinking? Obviously they weren't. They could certainly take a lesson from Mopar(R).

TIP: Occupy campsites facing north. This saves electricity for air conditioning, especially in the sunbelt. Sit outdoors to enjoy and watch the sunset.
