If it oscillates up and down a couple times after a dip in the road at highway speed, they're bad. Swaying back and forth after a turn is another sign.

Do a search Google on the subject. Around 03 or 04 they changed the cylinder heads to add more threads. But then they put in the 2 piece spark plugs. They can be replaced with a 1 piece....problem...

Disconnect the 2 small leads at the alternator....

Disconnect the 2 small leads at the alternator. Run a jumper from the alternator output to the sensor lead.
See if it charges.

On mine the chrome breather cap will spin on the threaded nut below if it's too tight. I had to use a wrench below the chrome cap.
