Hello Frankie and Deb. We too live in Minnesoooota and leave here for warmer weather every Winter, however we cannot leave until the last Grandchild has his birthday, or so Grandma says.

Where are you starting out to go to first?

WE have done most of that trip. Have fun. We stayed in Tuscon at the Lazy Days RV Park right by their Super Store. Nice place. Long way to Texas from there, but a nice drive if the wind isn't blowing to hard. In Las Cruses NM we found the KOA is very nice with a great view of the city. We have also stayed at La Hacienda RV Resort there which is really nice, but kinda packed in.

PM us anytime if you have questions. WE've been doing this for more than twenty years.

PS I also do the Mayo, but usually in Rochester.

Hello,
I'm taking our RV out of the tool shed on Deb's family farm is n Madelia, MAN. so that a hard snow doesn't block her in. My concern is what if we get a lot a snow before we depart. We are looking to leave by December. 27th. My concern is the roof. Thank you.

Hey, we also have relation in Madelia. McMonagles.

I doubt that we would have that much snow. It takes quite a bit to damage one of those roofs. We have slept through snow storms in ours more than once. Just be careful if you have slide out toppers that they don't ice up so that they won't roll in.

I'm assuming you mean Richard McMonagle in Garden City. I went to High School there. Small world.

Merry Christmas.

BTW you might want to make sure your rig is plugged in as it's probably going to be below zero at night on the 27th. I have also in the past had the furnace running to keep the inside a little warm when it gets that cold. Takes a long time to get it warm if you do not.

Hello,
I have her outside the farm plugged in to Electric, do you think I should keep the electric heat on at about 65, while she sits. Thank you.

I would keep some heat on, maybe not 65, but at least 50 degrees. Otherwise it will take a long time to get it warmed up. I usually run our propane furnace.

Often when we are leaving the next day I bring the unit into the yard and run the genset over night to keep everything warm and ready to go. That way the DW can load canned and bottled goods and not worry about them freezing. We also carry gallon jugs of water to use for the toilet or whatever until we get to warm weather. Then we make a dash for warmer weather.

What we usually do is spend our first night at a Casino in Oseola, Ia. which is open all year. No water but the electric is on and they have a limo that takes you into the Casino for dinner. Then the next day we do a long day to Oklahoma City where it's usually warm enough to de-winterize. Nice RV park there is Twin Fountains RV Resort.

Once there we relax and spend a few days. From there you're right on I40 which will take you west where you want to go.
