Wooden Plugs on cabinetry

I can't be the only one who has encountered this challenge, but many of the wooden plugs covering screw holes have fallen out and been lost. I've checked with a few hardware stores (including Home Depot) and neither the size nor the style work.

Any suggestions where to procure extras?

Thanks.

I make them out of dowels, sand one end round and stain to color. glue in place.

Check with a local cabinet (kitchen) making shop or search out (google) a woodworkers catalog.

You're certainly not the only one. I've bought them by the bag full at Lowes/Home Depot.

If you want them of the same wood, get a set of plug cutters. Got mine years ago at a woodworking supply...they come in several sizes. Just cut the number you need out of a piece of the same wood your cabinets are made of...you can use an electric drill if you want..

Once you get the replacement plugs, be careful to only use a tiny and I mean tiny speck of glue to keep them in place. You may need to remove them someday.

We replaced abourt half of them on our 01 Adventrer. The ones from the service center were an exact match. As I recall a pack of 10 was only a couple bucks. I put a dab of super glue on each of the new ones and never had another problem

The ones in my Breeze are tapered. No glue needed. Don't know where to get them, but maybe with a little sanding, they could be made.

Woodcraft carries a selection in store and online. Would need to be stained.

Not affiliated with woodcraft. They just have what I need.

Any Winnebago dealer can get them for you and they will match exactly when ordered under your SN. I got mine at Forest City. They are tapered but the holes are not tight enough to retain pressure on the plugs any longer. The tad of glue idea is correct. The fluorescent ceiling lights need care not to be glued too tight or you may damage the frame trying to gain access to the screws when changing the bulbs.

This '11 Meridian doesn't suffer with plugs or the problem! Yea!!!!

They are easy to make if you have the right dowel and a cordless drill. You can get them online at Rockler or possibly Woodcraft. Stain to match and finish with paste wax.
