What are the advantages of paint over non-painted RV's...is it really worth the extra money? Besides the aesthetics, is there better protection...with proper care, will it last longer...and is the 3M protective mask worth the investment?

Much easier to keep looking good, much easier to wax, polish, etc. I've had both and never another without full body paint.

3M is worth it. No messing with a bra, plastic shield, etc.

I've had both and while gel coat looks fine if taken care of, paint as chippysgt mentioned, it really is much easier to care for and IMHO, a painted coach looks elegant. Just my two cents worth.

Resale, Resale, Resale............

I've had both and besides the ease of keeping full body paint looking good compared to the white, it defineately helps at the time of resale.

LIKE THE OTHERS I HAVE HAD BOTH, AND REGUARDLESS OF HOW MUCH GEL COAT IS WAXED. THE SUN WILL FADE IT AND IT BECOMES CHAULKY. AND YES THE 3M IS WELL WORTH THE $$$. HOPE THIS HELPS IN YOUR DECISION.

What is the full name of the 3m prot. mask? Has anyone heard of a paint protection using Zylone?

You might want to do a search on "Paint chips or chipping. I have the NON-Painted MH and it still looks new! Chalking, Fading?? Haven't seen it on the 2003. It's in the sun 99.9% of the year..Just need to know what to use. Now for the life of me I can't understand why Winnebago doesn't even attempt to match the stripe on the flat floor slideouts. If you look at the Vetra/Horizon when the slide is out the stripes are off by 3-4 inches... Looks funny! Do they paint them before the slide is fully extended?
