Replace the sleeper couch with recliners

So I made an Executive decision and pulled the plug for a change. We took out a sleeper sofa, that we had hardly never used as a sleeper. An purchased from RV Seating and RV Furniture - Shop4Seats.com a new Leather Double Recliners! Just got the RV back from doing the switch out & we are very happy. Here are the pictures[emoji7]! I'm looking to do the same in my view 24v. I want to remove the "L" shaped sofa and replace it with dual recliners. Hard to find one to fit in that small space.

This item came as 3 separate pieces. You may be able to get this without the center cup/arm rest. Would make it smaller. As it is I had like 4 inches extra space on either side with the new recliner vs the sleeper couch. See the web site of contact info An size.

We did it in our 2014 Solie. Found a lot of options at the Lazy Boy store. Why pay more for RV stuff that is not as comfortable ?

Very nice! The U lounge in my LTV Unity MB was very uncomfortable and I couldn't find any rv furniture to fit the space so I went with 2 Harbor Town Lazyboy's. They fit with room to spare. Very comfortable for about half the price of custom rv furniture.

We purchased from Amazon a double wall hugger recliner with a console cup holder in middle. 67 inches long. Breaks down so it's easy to get through the door. We replaced a jack knife sofa.

I agree that the cost of RV furniture does equate with comfort. I replaced a sleep couch with a big, overstuffed LEATHER dual recliner couch. Since I am a full timer and live with just my fur buddy Thor, I had no need for a dinette, so I replaced the oval, uncomfortable dinette with a REAL desk, not a RV excuse for a desk. I then replaced my j-lounge loveseat with an entertainment center that has a fireplace. On top of this I put a 55" TV. This puts the couch across the aisle from the TV. What a difference it made.

I also changed the interior color, yuk, by painting all the walls with a texture paint that is a light brown in color.

Did this about a year ago and have had no regrets.

I am going to do the same thing. How did you get the couch out?

The old couch breaks down. Back, seat & lower frame all can be separated and slip out the door easily! Have fun! You enjoy the recliner vs a couch!😃

We replaced our's with two, powered, leather recliners from Macy's. When you go to the store, make sure you have all the critical measurements, including: base size, width, upright depth, reclined depth (from front of base to wall and make sure to allow for any valances behind the recliners). If your slide out isn't flush with the floor when extended, it will add to the seat height so don't forget that if it's an issue. You can mitigate this by removing any feet under the base.

In our case, the reclined depth made the front base feet hang off the front of the slide so I just shimmed up the base frame at the front edge of the slide to compensate.

You can get a Y cord so you can power both recliners off of one battery pack. Most are 24V so they won't run directly off of your DC. At home, a full charged battery pack runs one recliner for about a week but this will vary depending on use.

Hi. We replaced our sleeper sofa with a double recliner. Was wondering how you secured it to the floor? We had to use the seatbelts. Does not fully recline because it is too close to wall. Would love to know an alternative way of securing. Thank you.

We are looking at Thomas Payne theatre recliners. They say you don’t need to bolt the chairs down.

There is always something you can do. In our last RV, we had a very uncomfortable jackknife sofa in the slide over the wheel. There were no commercially available solutions, so I built my own love seat with end tables.

Last year we removed the carpet from the super slide (flat) and replaced it with engineered hardwood. Why is carpet installed at the fridge?? We are so happy with the results; after a year it still looks just like new.
Then, this year, we removed the L couch that was rarely used on the living room/kitchen slide. And we removed the carpet. The issue is that it is a raised slide so the floor space is not to be fudged! So, we had the floor extended close to eight inches. We have 38" depth now, with three sets of double rollers for support.
The initial plan was for two recliners and a table in between. HA! Finding a recliner that can fully recline in 38" and either rocks or glides has been a challenge that we failed. Wall huggers don't rock. So, Hub's recliner stays on the super slide, while I have an electric wall hugger and a small table. We will have a cusom desk, with a cover that latches, and is free standing, built. When the time comes to part ways with our home, we will buy two Euro recliners for the living room slide.

Our 2006 Sightseer 29R has a sofa opposite the entry door, mounted in the slider. It doesn't have seatbelts.

Can they be added or are there engineering or legal issues?

Wall hugger couch

I replaced the dinette with a wall hugger reclining couch. It goes pretty flat without touching the wall.
Simply bolts to the floor so it doesn't slide off the slide-out floor.
