The sales brochure and the online information on the Destination shows "Power Door Lock Keyless Entry" as standard equipment.

My coach does not have the Power Door Lock Keyless Entry installed. The dealer hasn't given me an answer and a call to the factory was also no help. They told me "it isn't on the build sheets".

Anyone ever had a problem like this? If so, what did you do? What should I expect the factory to do?

Most any brochure I've seen also has a statment like the one Winnebago puts in theirs, "Winnebago Industries'® continuing program of product improvement makes specifications,
equipment, model availability, and prices subject to change without notice."

Unless its on the build sheet its going to be hard to hold them to it. Did you buy off the lot or have it custom ordered?

I'm sure they will use that as their out, but I consider it false advertising if they don't disclose it at the time of sale. I bought it off the lot.

I really hate to sound like a doom sayer, but if you bought it off the lot you had time to look it over before the sale. They will probably say that you "knew" it did not have the desired feature when you looked it over. I suspect that would be their (Winnie and the dealer) out, and just as likely successful.

I spent 2 full days on the lot transferring from my previous coach to the new one. I obviously didn't check every item against the sticker and glossy brochure. Just as an example, the brochure says it has a 600 watt inverter, should I have checked to make sure it is really 600 watts? I can't imagine anyone checking every single item before purchase.

Any manufacturer can publish anything they want and deliver something else?

I would be happy with a rebate for the missing item.

I agree with GG1 that the more electronics, the more maintance. It is like we can't do anything manually anymore.

Like I said before, I will be perfectly happy with a cash rebate. I actually prefer locking the doors manually but believe in honest advertising.

A cash rebate for something that is not on the build sheet and you were not invoiced or charged for?

You don't think it was included when they priced it out? How do I know it is not included in the MSRP?

It would seem that if was 'standard equipment' then it was built into the original base price but if it isn't listed as 'standard' on the build sheet (Monroney Sticker) then Winnebago and the dealer are off the hook to compensate you.

You didn't mention if you checked the build date of your MH against the brochure; is this a new standard item that became effective after your build date?

Based on the factory and the dealer responses, I am sure I am out of luck. I don't like false advertising in any form. Not sure exactly when it was built but the dealer said they had just received the unit a couple of weeks before I bought it.

Don't know if this is the case with your rig, but I am talking with a dealer about a new destination and the 11 grand rebate is on some early builds, they have changed some of the standard equipment and they want to move these units. I know front awning is one item, some paint schemes are differnet, other little things. Might explain some of the things you seem to be missing.

I have the front awning. It is listed on the sticker as an extra. Nobody has told me that they changed their minds and the Keyless Entry is not a standard item.

Maybe you are all wired up for keyless, but they lost or never shipped the remotes?

The dealer and the factory say "it's not on the build sheet so it isn't there, Sorry".

Wayne, one of "Bad habits" of the RV industry occurs with each new model year and I suspect with the introduction of a new model. The industry loves to use inventory from the previous model year or just not get around to adding all the items to first runs of a product.

This would not be the first time that something should have been installed on a motorhome and was not.

I suggest you call service administration at this number 1-800-537-1885 and talk to them. Be ready to give them the VIN # of your motorhome. Do not depend on an email and do not give up till you speak to an individual that can give you answers.

Winnebago customer support has been very good to us.

They will be able to tell you what is installed on your motorhome and why some things are not.
