Has anyone purchased or installed a locking "gas" cap on your winnebago? Winnebago has a door on the over the gas filler but no locking gas cap. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

There was another post about this, and it got me thinking. Not sure if I'm worried about someone stealing my gas, but I was thinking a locking gas door would be easy. I'm sure winnebagoparts.com would have a lock like the one that's on my water door. They could probably even be sure it's the same key.

Yes Steve, one the first things I did after bringing the Itasca home. I purchased a cylinder lock from Lowes the same diameter as the original closer. They come with a couple different length blades on them. I modified the blade just a little and it worked perfectly. Two keys and a lot of peace of mind at todays gas prices. 20 minute job at best.

I would like to add a lock to my gas door rather then a locking gas cap. I do know the Horizon comes with a lock on the door and that lock will fit other coaches.

I worked with David Straw at Lichtsinn Motors
to get the correct locking gas cap and keyed lock for the gas door.

I bought a door lock for my old Suncruiser at Home Depot. It was cheap and a perfect fit. Took about 3 minutes to install.
