I am condsidering the purchase of a 99 sunflyer diesel. Looking for any info on this model, good or bad. Did this model have any inherited problems? What should I watch out for? Thank you in advance for your comments.

Hello Dan,

I just bought a 1999 Sunflyer 35L Turbo Diesel a few months ago and WE LOVE IT. I haven't found ANY problems nor disappointments in this coach. It has the 275 Cummins engine, which has plenty of power.

You can email me if you like for any specific information [email protected]

Dan - Just in case you haven't found this, here's a link to Winnebago's information on that model year. It's just a PDF of their brochure, but it'll give you all the specs, standard and optional equip, etc. Also, if you click on "Resources" at the top of that page, you can get wiring and plumbing diagrams for that model.

I am also looking at the 1999 Sunflyer /Chieftan 36, and the 1999 Suncruiser/Adventurer 34 diesel. The only difference I can find mechanically between the two is that the Suncruiser 34 has a 4 speed transmission versus a 6 speed in the 36 Sunflyer. Can anyone tell me more about the chassis for these coaches? What are the wheel sizes? 22.5 on both? I have the pdf brochures but they just say radial tires and not the size. It looks like they have the same Cummins 275HP ISB motor? The brochure shows a higher GVW for the 34 Suncruiser then the Adventurer, why is that?

Thanks

The 34' Adventurer has 19.5" tires with the 4 speed Allison. It gets 10-10.5mpg and runs 60mph at 2000rpm.

It has a Freightliner Custom Chassis - Air ride suspension. I have had mine since May 20 this year and have put about 1,000 miles on it - another 1,000 miles coming in a week or so - No complaints.
