Angry Heat From Floor Vents

Adventurer 38J - 2006

Driving down road, gen on to run AC. Nearly 100*.

All of my floor vents are putting out a LOT of hot air! I would expect some from the one right behind the dog cage but having a lot even into bedroom.

My working theory is that the ducting is probably absorbing heat from the road and maybe even the exhaust system. A big double whammy!

Any thought or suggestions?

Did you check that you or one of the dogs did not hit the coach heater button on th dash?. It pumps heated air through the floor vents when the coach is rolling.

The A/C ducting should not be hot, or even warm. I have the same coach (nearly) and recently replaced the condenser motor in the A/C unit. It requires pulling the A/C unit out. If you crawl under the rear corner of your coach you will see the ducting coming out of the A/C unit. The primary duct work has a connection within a few inches of the A/C unit. You may want to check it to see if it has come open and may require a fix. Good luck.

The heat is probably coming from the MotorAide heater just behind the driver and passenger seats. At this time of year, you almost have to block it with some insulation in the floor vent or vents. I have a lot of heat coming out of the front floor vent and a considerable amount in the kitchen.
